MORE than 300 Catholics gathered at Visale Parish on Sunday to celebrate St Joseph Solemnity Day.
Solomon Star Northwest Guadalcanal stringer John Toki said this is an important event in the Catholic Church calendar.
“The day celebrates the life of the foster father of Jesus Christ.
“It also falls on Lent,” Mr Toki said.
The programme started with Sunday mass led by Fr John Galvin and acting Visale Parish priest Fr Peter Chele.
The service was attended by people from the surrounding communities of Sahalu Ward.
