THE Governor General Sir David Vunagi has announced the 2020 Honours and Awards during his New Year’s speech broadcasted on the national broadcaster.
Sir David announced a total of six awardees, which include Order of the British Empire MBE, British Empire Medal and Queen’s Police Medal.
He said a total of 11 awardees were approved by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for the 2020 New Year’s Honours Awards.
The Order of the British Empire MBE is as follows:
Toata Molea for Services to commerce and community development and Anne-Maree, Dr Schwarz for services to fisheries and community development.
British Empire Medal, BEM is awarded to:
Francis Deve for services to rural and community development, Johnson Fataolisia Honimae for services to the media and communication, and Osanty Ludawane for services to rural and community development.
The last award is the Queen’s Police Medal, QPM-which was awarded to Kevin Sabino Maisa for services to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
