Waqa took the Mr Solomon Islands Bodybuilding title and Junior Oge the Mr Solomon Islands Physique title.
More than 50 bodybuilders from Honiara and Auki, Malaita Province participated in the championship which was held at the SI National Institute of Sport (SINIS) High Performance facility.
Guest of the honour at Saturday’s event was Deputy Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga.
SINBBF president Paul Fanasia Junior said the championship was part of SINBBF’s preparation for the 2023 Pacific Games.
The president said winners will be reviewed through to the final selection event next year before the country hosts the regional games.
He said last weekend’s championship was the largest domestic event the federation held since its formal registration in 2021.
“Compared to past competitions, this was the biggest event we ever hosted since 2017,” Mr Fanasia Jnr revealed as he acknowledged sponsors and the turnout of supporters, families and friends of the athletes and the federation.
