Communities in Ward 30, Malaita Province, will benefit from street solar lighting systems donated by the People’s Republic of China [PRC].
The solar equipment arrived in Auki early this week and will be delivered to communities within the ward in the coming days.
Ward 30 Member of the Malaita Provincial Assembly, Randol Sifoni, has acknowledged and expressed appreciation for China’s direct support to his ward.
Mr Sifoni said the ward received a set of street solar lighting systems which will be installed in the communities to improve lighting and public safety.
He said the support will not only provide lighting for communities but will also contribute to sustainable development efforts in the ward.
“The solar lights will benefit our people by improving visibility at night and supporting community activities.”
It is also part of promoting clean and renewable energy,” Mr Sifoni said.
He added that the donation reflects China’s ongoing support for green energy initiatives and its commitment to sustainable development and efforts to address climate change.
Mr Sifoni acknowledged China’s continued cooperation and said Ward 30 is committed to working together with China to promote development in Malaita Province.
The solar lighting project is expected to improve living conditions in the ward while strengthening cooperation between China and Malaita Province..
