Dear Editor – Allow me space to respond to A. Jones regarding the above article, in Star Issue No.5952 on Thursday 20/08/15.
I am sorry for him that he falls short to understand the points that I have raised in my article on 19th /08/2015.
In fact my article is basically questioning the formation of the west Rennell task force and its members.
My question then was centered on the fact that whether the establishment of such task force and the members appointed is proper and fit to look after the interest of certain landowners who are alleged to be affected by the land registration.
My call was then, demanding a proper scrutiny over the formation of the task force and its members who were appointed to administer the interest of the landowners who were allegedly affected by the recent registration.
You have failed to do your findings. You better wake up Mr Jones and think outside of the box. It is time to move on with life. Somehow, I find difficulty to understand you.
First, by using your ghost name to me it only demonstrates someone who is coward and fearful.
He is afraid because he is playing double standards for APID and its Opposition or he maybe someone who is dealing with an illegal land transaction in West Rennell.
By using your real name will create more repercussions to you as public will not have any confidence and trust.
You have raised some important matters in your article and it is better that your proper name is disclosed.
It is important to have your proper name so that we can discuss this matter together to find some ways to resolve this issue once and for all.
When you are hiding your real name it only shows one thing that it indicates a person who is good at under-the-table dealing. He fears the public because of illegal activities.
Second, APID has done nothing wrong. At no time APID has broken the law of this country. It always ensures the laws and orders of this country are fully complied with.
The process to acquire the land registration is a mandatory requirement under the Mining Act for the purpose of mining operation.
This is a national project whereby our Government is having interest over. For this to happen, Government has to acquire the lands.
For you to say that the process is breached is not true and only the court has the power to nullify the process if there is a breach.
Third, I did not deny the Speaker is also a landowner in West Rennell. My concern is that, his roles as a Speaker of National Parliament and the appointment to spearhead the West Rennell task force must not contemplate to current role as a speaker of the National Parliament.
If there is any then it paves the way to conflict of interest and we must ensure this does not happen. He is our great leader and we must protect him.
A proper course is to appoint somebody else to pursue the matter on behalf of certain landowners who are alleged to have been affected by the land registration process.
Moreover, I am employed as a land coordinator and Media consultant for APID.
My foremost obligation is to try and mediate the lands issue so that our good people of West Rennell and others can better and proper balance view of the current issues to avoid confusion.
As an employee I am duty-bound is to protect the interest of the company (APID) and not Solomon, Ray, Fred or Dictar as you mention in your article.
Furthermore, I call on you to reveal your true identity to the media and the public, so that discussion over this mining saga could be addressed in a peaceful way, because failure to do so is a waste of time and efforts to read about your articles.
Prove yourself to be a genuine person like I did to voice concern and challenges facing Renbel people in this new era in life, particularly the shift of lifestyle from subsistence to cash economy is inevitable, and is a matter worth discussion with real identity.
Finally, I call on you that next time you submit your article to the media you put your phone contacts and address, not sending via emails under European names, because respondent will want to know about the source by following up on this.
It is important to reveal your real name so that we can discuss this matter together as a way forward for better West Rennell and our future generation to come.
