Western province and Renbel U-19 teams are at the top of the table in day two of the Youth Solomon Cup tournament.
Both teams registered four points each from two matches played.
They won their respective opening matches of the tournament on Wednesday and drew 0-0 in their match on Thursday.
Western defeated Central 3-2 and Renbel caused the first upset when they edged host Honiara 2-1.
The underdogs, Renbel have become a favourite for many football fans following their two matches.
This is an impressive result for the boys from the province known mainly for the game of rugby.
Malaita, Central and Honiara all share three points.
Malaita was on bye yesterday and will return to the pitch today in search for their second win.
Malaita defeated Makira 4-2 in their opening match.
They will take on Honiara at 1pm today.
Central province registered their first win 2-1 against Makira Ulawa yesterday.
Honiara hit back following their defeat in their opening match with a 2-1 win against Guadalcanal.
Guadalcanal has proven to be a tough contender however was not able to stop the determined Honiara side from netting their winning goal in the final minutes.
Makira Ulawa and Guadalcanal are yet to register a point.
Makira Ulawa suffered their second defeat and Guadalcanal their first.
Matches will continue starting at 1pm today at the Lawson Tama Stadium.
