MEMBERS of the White River Church Dorcas Society in West Honiara has reached out to Satona village in Tangarare, West Guadalcanal from 19-22 August.
This was part of their outreach program to embrace the love of Christ to old age people, single mothers and orphaned.
Pr Robinson Diosi said that the outreach program is the first ever for Satona village to come across from any religious group.
Young Timothy Sautu also confirmed the visit is one of its first kind.

Mr Sautu said, the community was surprised with the unexpected visit and support from the ladies.
He said, as a son who looks after his own mother he was overwhelmed with the timely support.
“The support comes at a right time when most of the people especially the widows, elderly, helpless and fatherless were facing hardships.
“Most of us were surprised with the big support from the visiting ladies. I wish to acknowledge the dorcas ladies from White River SDA church for the huge support rendered towards our community.
“Thank you for recognizing our needs and coming to support us,” he said.
He also acknowledged Clement Marigeni and his late wife Linda for organizing the visit to the community which has a population of over 400.
During the visit, the ladies were able to provide food, cooking utensils, washing products and clothes to those are who desperate need of support.
They also held a fellowship program with the community.
A Catholic Catechist of the village also expressed the same sentiment in acknowledging the visit and support.
White River Dorcas leader Stephanie Tinohitu expressed her joy following the visit.
