A two-day intensive workshop on the new Education Act 2023, held at Voza Village in Northwest Choiseul successfully concluded last week with organizers and participants declaring it a major success.
The workshop brought together school principals, teachers, and members of the school boards from across Tepazaka Ward 6.
Organized by the Choiseul Provincial Government (CPG) Ministry of Education, School Development and Training (MESDT) with support from the Choiseul province education provider, the workshop aimed to be a platform for professional dialogue, strengthening school leadership, and building more resilient and effective schools.
The two-day event covered a wide range of key topics, including the Education Act 2023 and its legislative framework, teachers and leader standards, board and community standards, and education regulations.
Facilitating the workshop were; staff from Choiseul Province education provider and three other school principals.
In his address, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) for Choiseul province, Henry Deva, emphasized the importance of the unified roll out.
“This act represents a significant step forward for our education system,” he said.

“It was crucial to ensure every educator not only understands the new mandates but feels confident and equipped to implement them effectively.”
The agenda featured presentations from facilitators, discussion sessions, and a Q&A session, allowing educators to have their specific concerns addressed.
Furthermore, Cleston Kule Ngalavole, Principal of Voza Community High School (VCHS), highlighted the importance of the workshop.
“This workshop is more than just an event – it’s a platform for open dialogue, shared learning, and a collective vision.
“It reminded us of the power of unity in purpose that education is not a solitary journey but a partnership between teachers, the community, and every individual committed to the success of our learners,” he explained.
Ngalavole also applauded the facilitators for the successful completion of the workshop.
Meanwhile, participants praised the organizers for the workshop’s clear structure and accessibility.
