During the opening of the workshop yesterday Diocesan mission secretary (DMS) and trainer Leslie Filomea said, the vision of the diocese of Malaita is to transform the mindset and maximize the potential of the leaders in Malaita diocese to excellence and common unity.
“The purpose of the mindset policy is to nature, develop and transform the mindset and the untapped potential of the urban and rural community leadership of the Anglican diocese of Malaita.”
The potentials include quality, moral, principled, effective, creative and self -reliant in the diocese.
He said, the challenges the nation faces today is there is a nation wide concern and cry from various community leaders, government, churches, non government organisations (NGO’s) and institute to deal with the negative mental attitude of the people in the the country which stands as the nations greatest challenge.
The DOM mindset policy believes that negative mental attitude is a result of unchanged, undeveloped, disorganized, untrained and undisciplined mindset.
Mr Filomea revealed that these are the results of having a country with people whose history is trapped in the past colozation.
The policy is intended to find lasting solutions to the current problems of the diocese through the development of leadership in the diocese.
