THE YWCA of Solomon Islands’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 26th of March .
This will take place at its conference room at Town Ground, Honiara, starting at 1.00pm
YWCASI General Secretary Jenta Manu said: “This year’s AGM is a special occasion for the organization because we will be launching our new ten years, Strategic Plan 2015 to 2025 as well as presenting our updated Annual and Audit Reports.”
Mrs Manu stressed that the YWCA of Solomon Islands is striving to complete all its unfinished business before embarking on its new Strategic Plan.
“The YWCASI is striving to be a credible organization that aims to achieve its objectives to continue providing quality programmes for the empowerment of women, young women and girls as well as to provide quality early childhood education for young children in Honiara through our kindergarten at Town Ground.
“With confident, the General affirmed that this year 2015 with lots of hope, strategic thinking and positive will, especially now that our new Strategic Plan is in place will guide and direct the organization work and advancement.
She also added: “We like other small NGOs in Solomon Islands have had our fair bit of challenges, but we are feeling very empowered to move forward in this New Year with a new strategic outlook.
“Thus I call on members and stakeholders of YWCA especially our development partners to be part of the AGM in order for us to obtain collectives ideas from each individuals contributing in paving way forward for the organization.”
YWCA is an organization with a vision of “Creating Space for Young Solomon Islands Women to Influence Change” and will continue to improve its programmes such as the Rise Up! Leadership Training for young women in the outskirt settlements of Honiara as well as in Munda and Auki and to provide accommodation for working women at its hostel at Town Ground in Honiara.
This year’s AGM will also provide an opportunity for the YWCA of Solomon Islands to inform and update its members, volunteers, stakeholders, partners and supporters on the programmes and activities of the YWCA in the past two years.
