Parishioners of Tangarare in west Guadalcanal joyfully celebrated the feast day of Saint Joseph the worker at Tangarare Chapel on Saturday 2nd May.
The celebration was officiated by the Parish Priest of Tangarare Fr.HermanTige and assisted by Fr. Iuvens Rapasia.
Fr. Herman Tige in his homily highlighted the day as an important day for all Christians to remember. “Today is a special day for Christian people throughout the world to celebrate and remember Saint Joseph the worker as he is a hard working person.
Saint Joseph was a knowledgeable Carpenter who humbled himself and he was always the provider and protector for his family.” He also highlighted that St. Joseph the worker was an honest and respectable person and also a family teacher both in physical and spiritual lives.
Fr. Herman concluded his sermon by saying, “enjoy the day with Peace and Joy with Saint Joseph the worker, he who demonstrates his love to us and spread the light and happiness in our families.” “We pray to saint Joseph to warm up our faith and to allow us to follow in his footsteps.”
He then thanked the parishioner for the beautiful liturgy that preparations for the day. Meanwhile the chairman of Tangarare parish Mr. Sabino Kavihai thanked the parishioners for their presence and point out the motive of the gathering. “The motive of gathering here today is to celebrate our Parish saint and to see the development and the spirit of working together in our parish.”
It was a fitting day for such a beautiful and well prepared program. The feasting and entertainment was attended by (DMI) sisters, Christian’s denominations and the good people of Tangarare parishioner.
