In another first for Solomon Islands, the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission has today opened a new Voter Information Kiosk.
Voters who have questions about what to do on Election Day can get help from the SIEC by visiting the Voter information Kiosk, located on the ground floor of the Honiara City Council building on the Magistrates’ Court side.
“This is the first time the SIEC has set aside a dedicated space for public awareness,” SIEC Communications and Awareness Manager, Mrs Philothea Rueaho said.
“Anyone who still has questions about what they should do when the arrive at their Polling Station on November 19 should visit the Voter Information Kiosk and talk to SIEC staff.”
Inside the Kiosk voters can familarise themselves with a demonstration Polling Station, learn about the voting procedure, check their registration and ask any questions they may have.
SIEC staff will also be giving away a limited number of awareness materials such as posters, wristbands and stickers.
“This is a great opportunity for the public, especially first time voters, to ask any questions they may have ahead of next week’s National General Election,” Mrs Rueaho said.
Public can also access information about the upcoming Provincial and Honiara City Council Elections at that Kiosk.
The Voter information Kiosk will be open from 9am to 4.30pm every day up until the Election.
