POLICE are treating the shocking death of a Novice (trainee Tasiu or Melanesian Brother) who was allegedly attacked and killed at the end of last month (October) in Guadalcanal as a homicide.
Police Commissioner, Frank Prendergast said that despite no arrests yet been made, a full scale Police investigation is continuing and making good progress.
Mr Prendergast said that Police have had several leads following information provided by the public; however are yet to make arrests.
“We are making good progress with our investigations as the public has provided us with information with regards to the attacks, however no arrests have yet been made,” Mr Prendergast said.
The late Jackson Lodo and his companion (another Novice) were on their way to Tabalia from Honiara when they were caught in an unprovoked street attack which left the latter dead and his companion badly injured and hospitalized.
The violent attack and killing of the two Novices left not only the Melanesian Brotherhood but the entire nation in shock.
Police meanwhile further called on the public to provide them with information relating to the incident.
