A PRIVATE firm in Honiara BOC has made a kind donation to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) in Honiara.
BOC, the world’s largest supplier of industrial and medical gases and a member of the line group donated cylinder safety and wall brackets to the hospital.
According to the BOC County Manager Nick Rolf, he said, as the exclusive supplier of certified medical gasses to the hospital, they have an obligation to ensure their cylinders are stored and used safely in the ward.
“We are donating ten cylinder safety stands that will safely secure our cylinders next to whenever oxygen therapy is being administered in the wards,” he said.
“In addition to that we also donated twenty wall brackets that will be used in strategic locations throughout the hospital to store cylinders next to the wards until they are required by the nurses,” he added.
In witnessing the donation Dr. Rooney Jagilly, NRH Medical Superintendence said, they were delighted with the donation stating that this is the first in a number of initiatives they are working on with BOC to improve the quality and safety of public health services to the citizens of Solomon Islands.
Dr.Jagilly said, safety is paramount in the working place and to see BOC come up with such initiative to help improve the safety measures in the hospital through its donation is highly appreciated.
