Tetere police are investigating an alleged murder incident of a 29-year-old woman at the cocoa area (old CDC4) GPPOL II in North Guadalcanal on Wednesday, 21 May 2025.
Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Guadalcanal Province, Superintendent Edwin Sevoa, said it was alleged that the suspect raped the deceased and murdered her between 11am and 12pm.
PPC Sevos said police have identified injuries on the deceased’s head when they attended to the report.
He said the deceased is from North Malaita and resides with her husband in the Cocoa area and has a small baby still breastfeeding.
Mr. Sevoa said the body of the deceased is at the National Referral Hospital (NRH) morgue, and the investigation is ongoing at the moment.
The provincial police chief appealed to anyone who might have any information to come forward and assist police.
He said the suspect is still at large, and police are working behind the scenes to arrest the suspect.
