The Solomon Kings latest inclusion Jayroll Patty, the young rising star, will not part of the Solomon Kings lineup for the first round of the OFC Pro-League which set to kickoff today in Auckland, New Zealand.
VISA delays have put his travel plans on hold. The young rising star told Star Sport yesterday in an interview said he will link up with the Solomon Kings in Australia after the completion of first round.
“At the moment, I will not part of the Solomon Kings lineup for the first round of the OFC Pro-League due to VISA delay. However I will part of the team for the round 2 when they return from New Zealand to Australia”, Patty said.
“So far so good, I am still waiting for the VISA, and will keep on supporting the team for this first round while waiting for my VISA”, Patty added.
Star Sport understands that the nineteen-year-old Jayrol Patty is the latest addition to the Solomon Kings FC franchise ahead of the inaugural Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Professional League.
Star Sports recent interview with Patty when he received the call up, Patty revealed that his call-up came as a complete surprise and described the opportunity as a dream come true.
“I was contacted by SIFF only this week and they told me I had been selected into the Kings Pro League squad.
“I was really shocked. It’s a dream come true for me to play professional football, especially being part of the country’s first-ever professional football club,” Patty who is the youngest of the squad said.
Patty, alongside Japanese forward Sota Higashide, completes the final additions to the Solomon Kings FC squad as the club prepares to make its mark in the league’s inaugural season.
“This is a huge moment in my young football career,” he added. “I will make the most of this opportunity, learn as much as I can, and give my best whenever I get the chance to have game time.”
Patty Widely known for his exploits on the futsal court, Patty played a key role in helping the Solomon Islands national futsal team, Kurukuru, secure their sixth OFC Futsal Nations Cup title late last year in Suva, Fiji.
“The focus will now mostly be on the outdoor game,” Patty said as he looks to transition into the professional football environment.
Patty further encouraged other young football talents across the country to remain committed and disciplined in pursuit of their dreams.
“Keep working hard, stay disciplined, aim high, and your time will definitely come,” he concluded.
Meanwhile Solomon Kings will take on the PNG Hekari United on Sunday 18th in Auckland, New Zealand.
