The Island Elite Taekwondo Martial Arts Institute in Taro, Choiseul Province, last week have intensified its preparations as members gear up for their upcoming grading event and championship competition.
The institution has rolled out a focused and disciplined training program aimed at sharpening the physical and technical readiness of its athletes.
The training covers four key components currently shaping their training sessions endurance, agility, speed and flexibility.
To boost endurance, members are undergoing demanding cardiovascular and conditioning exercises designed to build stamina and maintain peak performance throughout extended training sessions and competitive bouts.
Training drills are also centred on improving agility, with athletes practising rapid movement, balance and coordination to strengthen both defensive and attacking techniques during sparring.
In addition, emphasis is being placed on speed, particularly reaction time, kicking precision and hand techniques. Quick execution and sharp reflexes are seen as critical advantages in competitive matches.
Meanwhile, flexibility training remains a core priority. Through structured stretching and mobility routines, athletes are improving muscle elasticity and joint movement, essential for high kicks, advanced patterns and injury prevention.
The intensified training reflects the commitment and determination of members as they prepare to represent the institute with pride.
With disciplined preparation and strong team spirit, Island Elite Taekwondo athletes are looking forward to demonstrating their skills, discipline, and sportsmanship.
