CHINA’S Beijing Polytechnic University does not only prioritize qualify vocational training for Chinese, but for the global community.
The university, which established cooperation with nearly 50 universities in 19 countries across five continents, was awarded an excellent rating for foreign student education in 2024 and receives 30 visiting delegations annually.
Journalists from the Pacific-Asia region visited the Beijing Polytechnic University’s School of Art and Design, School of Automative Engineering, and School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering on Monday 23 June as part of their exchange program activities in China.
Welcoming the journalists, the Vice-President of the university, Chen Jiangfeng said the institution has undertaken the mission of exploring the past vocational education with Chinese characteristics in recent years under the guidance of its philosophy of strategic cooperation.
He said through this approach, the university built a comprehensive talent cultivation system that embraces cross-culturalism.

“In 2024, our university and the Tsinghua University, as well as other universities were rated as excellent in terms of international student exchanges and cooperation.
“In the face of globalization and artificial intelligence technology changes, vocational education is not only the cradle of such training, but also the bond of mutual learning for civilizations.”
Further to establishing cooperation with various universities abroad, the Beijing Polytechnic University provides its domestic Chinese students with a comprehensive and multi-level platform for overseas study, including short-term exchanges and educational improvement programs.
It also offers a platform for its teachers to participate in overseas exchanges throughout their career, encouraging them to collaborate with foreign universities on teaching and research projects.

Beijing Polytechnic University has a center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills, and a Chinese Learning and Testing Center in Morocco as well as an overseas skills training base in Tunisia, which currently has an enrolment rate of 300 international students.
The visit by the Asia-Pacific journos to the three schools of the Beijing Polytechnic University, they received invaluable insights into the majors offered by the schools and also viewed exhibits of students’ work.
The School of Art and Design
The School of Art and Design consists of majors of Digital Media Art and Design (Media Convergence Arts Design, Visual Communication Design); Radio, Film and Television Program (Film and Television Program Production, Film and Television Animation, Smart Technology Magic); Environment Art Design (Interior Design, Household Product Design); Clothing Design and Crafts (Film Costume Design, Fashion Design).

With the aim of serving the market demand of the Beijing Cultural Industry, the school pays equal attention to art and technology, and compatibility of culture and art. It cultivated batches of talents with advanced technical skills in art design and application who can design and master technology and make art products. Over the years, a specialties’ group on art and design travelled the path of integration of national culture and professional construction, taking Chinese intangible culture through digital protection, education, application and setting up platforms.
The school enjoys effective cooperation with government, schools and enterprises, fully docks with the cultural industry, built a multi-platform for national cultural dissemination, inheritance, transformation and development, and formed a long-term mechanism for national cultural inheritance and innovation.
School of Automative Engineering
The School of Automotive Engineering offers four majors: Automobile Manufacturing and Testing Technology, Automobile Inspection and Maintenance Technology, New Energy Vehicle Technology, and Urban Rail Transit Electromechanical Technology.
The school attaches great importance to school-enterprise cooperation and has deep cooperative relations with leading automobile enterprises such as Beijing Benz, BAIC New Energy and Daimler.
It has established industrial colleges such as Academy of Beijing Benz Automotive Manufacturing Engineers ARCFOX Academy and Daimler China Automotive Academy.

School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
The school offers majors in Mechatronics Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Heating and Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Engineering Technology, Intelligent Building Engineering Technology, Aircraft Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Maintenance, Aircraft Electronic Equipment Maintenance, and Electrical Technology.
The school pays attention to school-enterprise cooperation and has in-depth cooperative relationships with advanced manufacturing companies such as Bosch Rexroth (China) Co., Ltd., Goldwind Group, and Institute of Comprehensive Technology and Economics of Machinery Industry Instrumentation.
