OBSERVERS from the Commonwealth are still in different provinces observing the counting phase of the elections.
The Media Adviser to the Commonwealth Observer Group, Julius Mucunguzi said that the teams spent much of yesterday, following the counting processes in locations in Central, Malaita, Western, Santa Isabel and Guadalcanal.
“Vote counting is an important component of the elections, and our Group members are still at various locations watching, taking notes and observing that portion of the process,” Mr Mucunguzi, quoted the Chair of the Group, former Papua New Guinea Prime Minister, Sir Mekere Morauta as saying.
He said that Sir Mekere Morauta himself observed the counting process at locations in Honiara.
