The responsibility of looking after the new water supply system lies on the shoulders of Maneasinimae and Taumaetarau water supply committee says director of Malaita province health authority Dr Hendry Kako.
Dr Kako uttered this when officiating at the water supply project official handing over at Palasu’s village in Small Malaita constituency last Friday.
The communities which have no running water for the past years now owned a new water supply system following the formal handing over of the water project to the communities by Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (RWASH).
Dr Kako challenged the respective communities to look after the new water supply system properly to ensure water is available to the communities with same quality and quantity from now and onward.
He said it is vital for Maneasinimae and Taumaetarau water supply committee to maintain the current good status of the new water supply system so that men, women, children sick patient, people with disability and old age people will have accesses to it and enjoy water availability in the years to come.
“It is the responsibility of Maneasinimae and Taumaetarau water supply committee to ensure water is available in good quality and quantity and that is the challenge that I want to leave with you here today,” Dr kako said.
He said water is a very important resource for human survival in any community where people lived.
Dr Hendry Kako was the guest of honour at the water supply handing over program.
