CHINESE Civil Engineer Construction Corporation (CCECC) promised to build a standard complex for the Solomon Islands National University (SINU).
CCECC is the Chinese Company that won the contract to build the $120million project at SINU Panatina Campus starting this week.
“I want to assure you that CCECC will bring a professional technical and management team including skilled workers to ensure construction of the SINU buildings will be of the highest standard,” vice president Sichang Chen said.
He said a construction programme has been drawn up reflecting actual construction conditions to ensure the project is delivered on schedule and within budget.
“During the progress of the project, CCECC promised to abide by the laws of this country and respect local cultures and traditions,” Mr Chen said.
Mr Chen said he firmly believed that under the leadership and supervision of the current government DCCG, the board and management of SINU, “we can implement this great project for the benefit of the citizens of this wonderful nation”.
He added that this project has been signed with CCECC last year and “I hope this will be not a last as the company believes it can sustain a mutually-beneficial presence in this country”.
“On our part, CCECC will help boost the local economy by maximizing procurement of local materials and collaborating with local suppliers and contractors and perform our social responsibility,” Mr Chen said.
CCECC was established in 1979 and is a state-owned enterprise with Chinese National Super Grade qualification for project contracting.
With strenuous effort over three decades CCECC has explained its business scope from international development, railway construction to civil engineering design and consultancy, real estate development, trading, industrial investment and hotel management.
He said the business activities of the CCECC have spread over 70 regions and countries.
With its excellent performance and quality services, CCECC has won many national titles and honors and has been listed among the world’s top 250 international contractors for 17 consecutive years by Engineering News Records (ENR).
Mr Chen said that CCECC has been operating in the South Pacific Region for more than 13 years.
Its business activity covers; Tonga, Cook Islands, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu where CCECC South Pacific Limited headquarters is based.
“With 13 years strenuous efforts, CCECC has accumulated rich construction experience, cultivated a large number of excellent management and technical talents and developed advanced construction technology in the pacific region,” Mr Chen said.
