THE Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) government will continue to implement the existing development projects on Malaita, Guadalcanal, Western and Choiseul.
These are mainly in agriculture, industrial, township, aviation, energy and fisheries.
The projects include Auluta Palm Oil, Waisisi Palm oil, Bina Habour Industrial Township Project, Fiu Hydro Project, Suava Tuna Canning Project (Malaita), Noro Industrial Park, Munda International Airport (Western province), Mamara/Tasivarongo Township Project, Tina Hydropower Development Project, Ndoma Tuna Canning Project and Tenaru Tuna Canning Project (Guadalcanal), Choiseul Bay Township Project, Sasamunga Airstrip Project (Choiseul) and Savo Geothermal Project.
In its policy statement, DCC Government said it is aware of the imbalance in the distribution of existing development projects when weighted against provincial distribution.
“However, when seen against population the imbalance is non-existent.
“As a measure against provincial imbalance, the DCC Government will willfully balance the imbalance by implementing new development projects in other provinces,” the policy statement outlines.
The police statement is expected to be completed and launched in the coming weeks.
