THE continuous heavy rain currently experienced in the country has affected businesses in Gizo, Western Province.
Reports reaching this paper early this week said, some shops in Gizo and the main roads have experienced intense flooding as result of the heavy rains, thus very little people travelled from the islands todo trading.
A resident,NivasiaNiuta told the Solomon Star yesterday from Gizo thatroads leading up to Jah Mountain, Gizo Hilltop and shops in Gizo town have been badly affected by the continuous heavy rain.
“Most shops here been affected by this continuous rain because it stop people movement to buy their products.
“During the rain, most people from nearby islands and Gizo residents could not mobilise to do trading because of the heavy downpour which also damage road access here,” Mr Niuta said.
Cyclone Nathan and Pam are currently hitting parts of the country over the past days.
The weather office had also warned people in Temotu, Renbel, Central, Isabel, Western, and Choiseul provinces to take extra precaution.
