NATIONAL carrier Solomon Airlines has a new board.
It is chaired by Austin Holmes, who replaces outgoing chairman Denton Rarawa.
The board held its first meeting Tuesday this week, according to Solomon Airlines insiders.
It was not clear what was discussed in the first meeting, but according to one source, the chief executive officer’s job was one of the agenda.
The job is currently held by Ni-Vanuatu Captain Ron Sumsum, but it was recently advertised both locally and internationally.
When contacted, Mr Holmes, who is also the general manager of logging company Earthmovers, confirmed his appointment but refused to divulge the issues discussed in their first meeting.
The board’s deputy chairman is George Rausi, Director Finance at the Solomon Island Ports Authority (SIPA).
New board members are private businesswoman Cathy Nori, general manager of Kitano Mendana Hotel Masao Yamagata, and managing director of Credit Corporation Tony Langston.
Mr Langston is also a member of the last board.
