The Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward Munda 15 in Western Province, Hon. Palin Veo, has formally acknowledged and congratulated the people of Kekehe and Kindu for the successful hosting of their Christmas and New Year celebrations program.
Speaking to the Solomon Star in an interview Hon. Veo expressed his appreciation to the chief, elders, and children of Kekehe Kindu for their unity, cooperation, and commitment in organizing an event that brought the community together in peace and celebration.
He noted that such programs play an important role in strengthening community bonds, preserving culture, and promoting positive engagement among young people.
The celebrations featured a variety of entertaining and competitive activities that showcased local talent and teamwork.
These included singing performances, choir competitions, string band music, a modern Queen show, as well as sports events such as soccer and volleyball and sea games activities.
Traditional and recreational games were also part of the program, creating an inclusive atmosphere for people of all ages.
Hon. Palin Veo praised the organizing committee for their dedication and planning, stating that the smooth running of the program reflected strong leadership and cooperation within the community.
He especially acknowledged the role of elders and chiefs in guiding the younger generation and ensuring that the celebrations were conducted in a respectful and orderly manner.
The MP encouraged the youth to continue participating in constructive activities such as music, sports, and cultural events, emphasizing that these initiatives help keep young people focused and away from negative influences.
Hon. Veo reaffirmed his support for community-based programs in Ward Munda 15 and encouraged other communities to follow the example set by Kekehe Kindu. He concluded by wishing the community continued peace, unity, and development in the year ahead.
The program at Kekehe and Kindu ended several days ago.
