LOGGING company Samlinsum’s operation on Rennell is illegal, a Rennel man claims.
And Pautangata Hakatingisa’a urged government authorities to stop the logger from felling trees on disputed land, which are currently before the High Court.
Mr Hakatingisa’a said Samlinsam has continued to trespass and operateon land, whicha High Court order had restricted them from entering.
He added Samlinsam is trespassing into disputed Niteni land and felled trees, as part of their protest against APID’s registration of West Rennell.
He also confirmed High Courts civil cases No: 282 of 2014 and Civil case 213 of 2015 ordered Samlinsam and her subsidiary Green Hill to stop logging in Honohono and Niteni land.
“We are questioning the action and behaviour of this company as an investor competing against APID for rich bauxite deposits and pencil cedar wood on Rennell Island.”
Comments are being sought from Samlinsum.
