A final inspection of Lomlom airport in Reef Islands, Temotu province, has been confirmed for next week.
Thats according to the director of aviation George Satu.
Speaking to the Solomon Star yesterday he said the final inspection will be held on Sunday, July 20th.
“The aviation authority has agreed to open up the airstrip due to public demand and need for the service to start soon,” Mr Satu said.
He said Lomolom has been completed early this year but due to other pressing work commitments the inspection has been delayed.
Mr Satu explained that once the inspection is completed and the approval is made Solomon Airlines should start serving Reef Islands.
“To assure the Temotu people, the final inspection of Lomlom has been agreed by government and is now set for next Sunday July 20th,” Mr Satu said.
