A committal hearing will be made on a case of a man who allegedly attempted murder on his brother once all disclosures are provided.
The hearing was scheduled for yesterday but was not possible because prosecution has not yet collected the medical report from the police.
The defence counsel was not available as he was busy with another case.
Acting Deputy Chief Magistrate Jim Seuika therefore had to adjourn the matter to February 19, for mention again.
Once all disclosures are received, the committal hearing will be conducted.
Jerrial Manehahia allegedly threw a knife at his elder brother on the evening of August 22, 2014 at Piapia village at Marau Sound in Guadalcanal.
That evening, a relative visited them and Jerrial asked his brother’s wife if the relative was staying overnight.
However, when his brother’s wife did not answer as she was busy in the kitchen, Jerrial allegedly got angry and allegedly swore and kicked his sister in-law who was pregnant at that time.
His brother asked him why he kicked his wife as she was pregnant and then went to his room.
The accused allegedly followed his elder brother and allegedly threw a knife without a handle at his back and it stuck just below his shoulder blade.”
The knife was removed by a doctor at the National Referral Hospital (NRH).
