Members of the Melanesian Brothers, based at Tabalia, West Guadalcanal will be putting on a drama on ‘The Passion of Christ’ on Good Friday, the 25th of March.
The ‘Free for all’ show will be staged at the National Art Gallery grounds at 2pm on Good Friday.
Based on ‘The Passion’, the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as depicted in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the Melanesian Brothers will be dramatising the final hours of Jesus’ life in a two-hour show.
“It has been a few years since we last put such a powerful drama,” Mission coordinator of the Melanesian Brothers, Fr Jeffery Takina said.
“It is a public event, and we invite and welcome the general public to be part of this Good Friday drama, to reflect on Jesus’ crucifixion, his journey to the cross.”
The members of the Melanesian brothers were currently on mission work over the Lenten season throughout various parishes within the Central Diocese of Melanesia, but will regroup at Tabalia on Thursday, prior to ‘The Passion’ show on Good Friday.
