THE old wreckage from a sunken ship in the Malaita outer islands are yet to be returned to Dr Reginald Aipia, sources revealed.
Speaking to the Solomon Star one of the local scuba divers who helped to salvage the suspected mineral objects from the sunken ship said their boss (Aipia) is still waiting to receive the metals.
He said since it was declared from the Ministry of Mines that these objects were product of no value, they thought it would be immediately return to them, but since then nothing happens.
A police officer told this paper that they still carry on with their investigations, therefore the ship wrecks will remain under their control until they complete their work.
The officer added that public must not be misled to assume the colonial relics were of high value, since a proper report from the ministry of mines will soon to be released.
The officer stated that it is likely that the report of the suspected minerals will be no difference to what was earlier published in this paper, so the public should not confuse on false information, by unreliable source.
Attempts to get the Ministry of Mines to comment yesterday were unsuccessful.
