More than sixty young Christians from Holy Cross Cathedral received the Sacrament of Holy Communion last Sunday at the Holy Cross Cathedral.
The Mass was officiated by the Parish Priest of Holy Cross parish Fr. Peter Houhou and was witnessed by many parents, relatives and friends from other denominations.
The young Christians generously received the sacrament of Holy Communion from the Parish Priest Fr. Peter Houhou.
During the Mass in his homely Fr. Peter Houhou highlighted the day as a special day for worshippers especially for the young Christians who will receive the sacrament.
“Today is special day for all Christians and especially for you our young children who will receive the body and blood of Christ in the sacrament of Communion. We were celebrating the Corpus Christi which is a body and the blood of Christ.” Fr. Houhou said.
“You will now receive the graces body and blood of our lord Jesus Christ in your lives.”
He added we are the mistrial body and blood of Christ especially for you young children who will receive the body which we are celebrating with the message that is Calvary continuous.
He called on good parents to take a good care of their children and encouraged them to turn up in Church serves to receive the body and blood of Christ in their entire lives.
He also voice out a picture story to young Christians about a little boy who always obey his parent and received a blessing as a reward in his life.
Meanwhile a parent Mrs Patricia Kenny said “I’m very proud of my daughter and that is why I brought her forward to be part of the celebration so that she will receive the holy food that is the body and blood of Christ in her life. I hope the blessing she received today will bring joy in my family and for her to praise her faith in receiving the sacrament in her journey life.”
The Mass was concluded with acknowledgment by the counsellor of holy cross Cathedral Mrs Georgiana Sogote’e to the parents for allowing their children to receive the sacrament in their lives and the Sunday school teachers for their time offer towards in preparing the candidates to receive the holy sacrament of communion.
Refreshment was held for them at the Holy cross hall after the Mass.
