There are no form of compensation for people, who lost their lives or injured by remains of World War II remnants.
This was revealed by Sergeant Rex Waiwori of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordinance Team (EOD) during a media conference in Honiara.
He said any person who lost his life or got injured by the remains of World War II bombs will never be compensated by Solomon Islands Government (SIG) or by those countries involved in the conflict.
He said from his experiences since he joined the RSIPF there is no such thing as compensation for any person who accidentally injured or died from explosion of these WWII bombs, although some incidents had happened.
Waiwori was responding to a question asked during a press conference last week.
