The Noro-based Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MoFT) in Western Province has facilitated more than $4 billion in export value, generating over SBD500 million in revenue.
At the same time imports recorded over SBD1.4 billion, producing more than SBD250 million in import duty collections.
More than SBD2.5 million were collected by the Treasury Division over the same period, according to the Minister of Finance and Treasury, Hon. Harry Kuma.
Hon. Kuma revealed these figures during the official opening and handing over ceremony of the new MoFT Office building in Noro Friday, 8th August.

He said the statistics reflect the critical role played by MoFT’s operations in Noro, which serves as a major hub for the country’s revenue and trade facilitation in the Western Province.
“This facility is not just a building; it is an investment in efficiency, accountability, and the delivery of essential government services that directly support our economy,” Minister Kuma stated.
He emphasized that the office will continue to strengthen the ministry’s capacity to handle increasing trade volumes, streamline tax and duty collection, and enhance compliance.
The new MoFT office in Noro is expected to improve working conditions for staff and enable better service delivery to businesses and the public, as well as contribute to the government’s long-term development goals.
