KOLOALE FC head coach was impressed with the way his young players performed in the current HFA competition with absence of most of their senior players due to injuries.
Former national player and coach Gideon Omokirio revealed this to Star Sports in an interview over the weekend at the Lawson Tama stadium after their crucial victory against KOSSA FC.
“Actually our senior players were injured at the moment, at the same time it gives an opportunity for my young players to prove themselves in the competition,’’ he said.
“With their injuries, I have no option but to field my young players.
“As you can see, a lot of them have already proved their capability while the opportunity was given to them.
“Thus, it’s another decision that I have to decide whether the senior players will continue to make it to our first eleven or it’s an opportunity for our young boys to come in more often.
Omokirio stressed that he was very excited with the way the young players are performing against some of the biggest clubs in the league.
He also urged his young players to maintain their fine performance, adding their output will help develop football in the country.
Meanwhile Omokirio acknowledged the club’s major sponsor Island Bekary for supporting the team that has bulk of young players.
