THE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Solomon Host, Joyce Konofilia has expressed profound gratitude to the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) for its unwavering support towards the hosting the 2025 Miss Pacific Islands event.
Addressing the eight contestants and their delegations with an audience of dignitaries from the national government, the Opposition and Independent groups in Parliament, members of the diplomatic corps and Honiara residents, just moments before the announcement of the new Miss Pacific Islands on Saturday night, Ms Konofilia acknowledged the SIG for its support.
Government is believed to have supported the event with $2million.
“Thank you so much to the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister for Culture and Tourism, Minister for Women, Youth and Children Affairs, Minister for Home Affairs and the Minister of Finance and Treasury for your incredible support to the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant 2025,” she said.
Ms Konofilia emphasised the importance of women’s empowerment across the Pacific and thanked the SIG for believing in the empowerment of women in the region.
“Thank you for believing in the empowerment of our women, not just in the Solomon Islands, but in the Pacific as a whole.”
In addition to the SIG support, Ms Konofilia expressed gratitude to the companies, stakeholders to the sponsors who have been instrumental in making the event a success.
“I would also like to extend my thanks to our silver sponsors Coral Sea Resort and Casino, Tourism Solomons, Bank South Pacific, Print Wise, Paranga designs, Blue Water, Solomon Power and Our Telekom.”
Ms Konofilia also recognised the challenges faced by her team throughout the journey, conveying her appreciation to supporters for standing by them.
“This has not been an easy journey, and we are thankful for everyone who has supported us through it,” she said.
“We also thank the Lord for giving us the strength to keep going despite the challenges we faced as tonight, you all have witnessed our success,” she added.
Solomon Islands Government has given Solomon Host the hosting right for Miss Solomon Islands Pageants and for Miss Pacific Islands Pageants when they are held in Solomon Islands.
