HONIARA, (THE NATIONAL) – Two of Bank South Pacific’s (BSP) Papua New Guinea-based staff members have been appointed to management roles in its Solomon Island operations.
Paul Kalai was appointed to manager retail operations and Theresa Kalivakoyo as financial controller of BSP Solomon Islands operations.
Kalai’s brings with him over 20 years of banking experience.
His career spans from a telling, a branch manager and an area manager. Kalai was previously the retail project manager – BSP retail staff development.
“I have BSP to thank for this opportunity, the management and staff who have supported me. It is truly an honour to fly the flag of BSP and PNG in our neighbouring countries,” Kalai said.
He started as a customer service officer climbing up to branch manager within retail banking.
Theresa Kalivakoyo is a CPA qualified accountant with over 16 years’ experience in hotelier, mining, electricity industries in PNG.
“I would like to thank the management for the great opportunity given to me,” Kalivakoyo said.
“The role in Solomon Islands will be definitely challenging, but I’m sure to do my best to assist my fellow colleagues in the operations in PNG and the Solomon Islands.” She joined BSP last April as business controller at BSP Capital.
