THE country’s national U17 men’s futsal team, Solympics aims to finish second after Marist was confirmed winners of the 2018 Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) futsal league title.
Solympics coach, Stanley Puiarana said they aim to finish high will not give away any matches despite going against the Vania the bottom team of the competition.
Solympics has 24 points and one match remaining; a win for them will give them 27 points which is out of reach for Kooline or G-Camp to reach even if they win their remaining matches.
“Our aim now is to finish second since Marist has claimed the title early in the competition.
“We will not give away any matches despite going up against bottom table teams,” he said.
Puiarana said finishing second in the league is a boost to their preparation for the Youth World Cup and will help his players have a positive mindset.
