SPTO – The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) has announced the appointment of Makelesi Muloilagi as its new Marketing Officer.
SPTO Chief Executive Ilisoni Vuidreketi said Muloilagi’s inclusion was timely as the marketing division gears up for another year of competitive destination promotion and marketing in 2015for its 16 member countries.
“A strong and vibrant marketing team is crucial to effectively respond to the huge demand we are witnessing from our major source markets for and on behalf of our member countries,” he said.
“We are pleased to have the calibre of Muloilagi in our team as we embark on an exciting regional marketing programme in 2015.
Vuidreketi said Muloilagi joined the team after a competitive recruitment process in the Pacific region. She will play an important role supporting the team in coordinating and participating in regional programmes like the South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) to be held from June 19-20, 2015 in Melbourne; and international travel shows such as the World Travel Mart (London), Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention (Miami), ITB Europe and Asia, and the China International Travel Mart.
Muloilagi holds a Masters degree in Commerce in Management and Public Administration (USP) and a Bachelor of Arts (USP) majoring in Industrial Relations & Management.
She was a senior investment promotion officer at Investment Fiji and previously worked at Carpenters Finance and Air Terminal Services before that.
