The visiting Taiwanese youth ambassador as part of their last day in the country visited thechildrens ward at the National Referral Hospital.
The visitation was part of their program and to share their last hours with the young sick patients by presenting them with small gifts.
Before kicking off their visit, the youths were briefed about the hospital and its short history which was built after the World War 2 II.
The youths were also told about Taiwanese assistance towards the construction of the hospital as well as its ongoing support as part of maintaining the friendship among people of Solomon Islands and Taiwan.
During the tour around the ward the youths presented the sick children with balloons and lollies before flying out of the country.
Speaking to one of the youths yesterday Chia Wen Hsu said she was very happy to visit the little ones and presenting them with small tokens.
She said she love Solomon Islands because its similar to Taiwan, the climate and some of its environment.
“During my time here I see Solomon island peoples as very peaceful and I love that experience,” she said.
Another youth Yang Yi Wei said most children in Solomon Islands are healthy.
“I think that fresh environment of the country contributes to their good health.”
She also enjoyed meeting other local youths and chatting with them.
“We hope our visit here will be long remembered,” she said.
The Taiwanese youth ambassadors arrived in the country on Saturday, made a public performance on Sunday and then visit a number of communities and places.
The visit is part of the Taiwanese government in strengthening friendship with Solomon islands government through youth exchange and cultural activities.
