THE United States (US) government through its embassy in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea shares condolences on the passing of statesman Sir Peter Kenilorea.
A statement from the embassy on Monday said Sir Peter’s service for the Solomon Islands will be ‘fondly’ remembered.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Right Honorable Sir Peter Kenilorea KBE.
“On behalf of the U.S. Embassy community, the people of the United States, and President Obama, we convey our deepest condolences to his family and the people of Solomon Islands.
“Sir Peter Kenilorea was a highly distinguished statesman who led his country through to independence as the nation’s founding Prime Minister.
“His many years of illustrious service in the Government of Solomon Islands and for all Solomon Islanders will be fondly remembered.”
