A GROUP of Christian women from various denominations paid a visit to the Rove Correction Centre, Monday.
The women came from Anglican Church of Melanesia, Bible Way Centre, and United Church.
Their visit was to share God’s word and pray with the inmates during this festive season.
A spokeswoman Maria Maezama said the visit gave an opportunity for the inmates to share their spiritual needs to the group.
“They expressed that they really enjoyed the sharing and were greatly blessed,” Mrs Maezama said.
She said they also sang Christmas songs for the inmates, some of whom were touched and moved to tears.
“Our presence made them feel at home though they were behind the bar and separated from their families,” Mrs Maezama said.
After the spiritual presentation, the women shared food and presented gifts.
She said it’s time for Christians to reach out and help those who in need for physical and spiritual food.
