Coconut is Solomon Islands green gold and the tree of life, says the Chairman of the Virgin Coconut Oil Producers Association, David Rosalio.
He said coconut farmers have over the years been contributing to the economy of Solomon Islands.
Mr Rosalio said the Virgin Coconut Oil Producers Association will work together with the Democratic Coalition for Change Government led by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare.
He said as Solomon Islands enters into 2015, his members will cooperate with the new government especially in advocating the benefits that can be derived from the coconut tree.
“Coconut is our green gold and the tree of life in developing our communities and as a whole, it contributes to the national economy”, Mr Rosalio said.
