PRIME Minister Manasseh Sogavare has clarified false rumours that he was only vaccinated with water and not the actual Covid-19 vaccine.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Sogavare said the rumour that was circulated by some people that he was only vaccinated with water is untrue.
“I want to clear the rumour about me circulated around by our people that I was vaccinated only with water and not the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“Please, do not listen to all these false statements. I was vaccinated with the AstraZeneca,” he said.
He said when taking his vaccine, he and the other nine people were using the same bottle of vaccine.
“In fact, 10 of us have been vaccinated with one bottle of vaccine. So, I am one of the 10 people who were using the same vaccine bottle to get my vaccine from.
PM Sogavare said this rumour has been spreading like wildfire.
Not only that, Mr Sogavare also brushed aside claims that he is getting paid for bringing the vaccines into the country.
He clarifies that the rumour that he was getting paid each time a person in Solomon Islands gets vaccinated is also not true.
