SOLOMON Islands National University (SINU) management has introduced a new system of paying fees for this year.
Pro-vice chancellor Academic, Professor Basil Marasinghe confirmed that the changes will require students to make separate fee payment for single course units instead of lumping them together for a year’s program fee.
He said the new system allows students to meet fees for single units of their preference choice from the course program.
He said the system provides flexibility for students to continue with their studies for the units they are able to pay for while other units of their course program can be pursued later.
Professor Basil said students who can afford the cost of the full course program will pursue the program as normal.
However, he explained that students can still pursue their studies for having chosen to pay up for only two units of what could be a four to five unit program.
Professor Basil pointed out that the University still requires students to settle outstanding arrears in fees by those under on-going programs before they are allowed to continue with their studies this year.
He appeals to students with outstanding fees to make sure all fee arrears be fully settled before they can continue their course program this year.
The registration for courses will commence on 18th January and classes will start 2nd February 2016.
