Dear Editor – Great news for all East Are’Are people to experience and witness the launching of political party in their constituency since our country gained independence from Great Britain in 1978.
More interestingly, the political party launched was founded by Sir Peter Kenilorea (First Prime Minister of Solomon Islands as well as indigenous East Are’Are man). It is sad to learn that the founder was not at the launching due to health problem.
I feel it should be best if the founder should be present and be acknowledged by the interim President Andrew Hanaria during the launching. Therefore, I would like to ask few questions related to the launching that occurred during last weekend.
- Does the Political Party newly launched at Nariaoa village have new manifestos from its original? If so, then it could be very interesting to read the new manifestos launched.
- Who appointed the new interim President of the United Party, Andrew Hanaria, an intended candidate for the East Are’Are constituency?
- What is the current status of the High Court ruling of Andrew Hanaria’s case? East Are’Are voters really need definite explanation from the responsible authority, especially from the electoral commission office.
- Why is it that both chiefs from Nariaoa and Raeao villages; Michael Aitorea and John Horipo have questioned the launching as reported by Mr Watson.
These questions need to be well explained so that voters should have better understanding before casting their ballot papers according to their preferences. Finally, I would like to congratulate Andrew Hanaria’s initiative of the launching of the Reformed United Party. Wish you good luck and good leadership.
