The 2015 South East Vella La Vella constituency cup will kick off today at Maravari village in Western province.
About 15 teams from communities in and around South East Vella La Vella managed to register their teams to participate on the biggest soccer competition on the Island.
Speaking to Star Sports with the South East Vella La Vella Cup committee Sunga Semepitu said, the official opening of the tournament will be staged with a parade.
He said the gathering of the tournament is a great opportunity for every young player to participate in as this is seen as the biggest football tournament to develop rural soccer standard in sport.
“Our aim is to unite every South East Vella La Vella football clubs and to help young people in the rural areas to be more active in sports.
“We acknowledge our great major sponsors and hope to complete the game fairly and cleanly,” Sunga said.
Matches are being played in pools from A to D.
Pool A – Varese, Sinia green (Beiporo), Spama (Supato/Malosova) and Buleana sun.
Pool B – Eleoteve Blue, Deep- Deep (kolokolo), Oula Breeze, Niaro red.
Pool C – Sama rock (Barokoma), Kuava seal, Sambora sky and Maravari 2.
Pool D – Maravari 1, Vonunu Dolphin and Eleoteve yellow.
The winner will away with the top prize being $50,000 for the first prize, $30,000 for second, $20,000 for third and $10,000 for the fourth prize.
